10. Instructor's Safety:

  • The instructor can cancel or terminate a lesson at any time if they feel threatened or feels there is a high risk of safety concerns in any way related to personal safety or safety on the roads.

  • The lesson time will still have to be paid for in full If the lesson has been cancelled for this reason.

11. Fitness to Drive:

  • You must be fit to drive, always, with regards to legal and medical requirements.

  • If you require spectacles/contact lenses to drive, you must bring them with you to every lesson and always use them.

  • If at any time your instructor suspects the influence of drugs or alcohol (prescribed or otherwise) that could affect your driving ability or deem unsafe, then the lesson may be cancelled, and no refund would be issued back to you.

12. Road Safety:

Your instructor reserves the right to withdraw their vehicle for a driving test without notice should the pupil in the instructor’s opinion not to be up to test standard or book the test without the instructor’s prior knowledge or agreement.

13. Total Drive Booking System:

Every student will be given access to our Total Drive System which allows them to see past and upcoming lessons that are booked, look for “gaps” within the near future and book them, and provide the students with an insight into their training and abilities. Please speak to your instructor should there be any issues with this.

14. Payments and Bookings:

Once a booking has been made, you must ensure that you make payment to your instructor 2 DAYS PRIOR (before your lesson). Any bookings made but not paid for by this time period may be cancelled automatically (by discretion of the instructor), and you may still be charged.

This is a practice used throughout the industry to ensure that our instructors are constantly booked and do not have any loss of earnings during this time.

If there is an available slot that same week, and no one has taken it, then it will be offered to a new student on the waiting list to keep up with demand.

15. Pupil Cancellation:

Unless a minimum of 48 hours’ notice is given lessons must be paid for as the lesson slot could have been available for another pupil.

Should the student be genuinely ill, then it is at the discretion of the instructor as to whether they charge.

The general rule of thumb for Raven Driving School is as follows:

  • 1st cancellation due to illness or bereavement £ NO CHARGE

  • 2nd cancellation due to illness or bereavement £ HALF

  • 3rd cancellation due to illness or bereavement £ TWO THIRDS

  • 4th cancellation due to illness or bereavement £ FULL RATE

If the pupil does not show for the lesson, the instructor will only wait for 20 minutes before leaving. The lesson will then be presumed cancelled, and the pupil must pay for the lesson time allocated or in the case of a block booking, the time will be deducted from the number of hours left in the block.

The instructor will inform via text or phone call that he/she has waited for the 20 minutes and is now leaving the arranged pick up point.

16. Instructor Cancellation:

If your instructor cancels any or all of your lessons any refunds are the sole responsibility of your instructor and may tale up to 7 working days.

17. Personal Property:

It is your responsibility for personal property that is left in the tuition vehicle. However, we will endeavour to return any items found at the earliest opportunity.

18. Block Bookings & Fees:

Block bookings are set by each instructor (if they choose to do so) and may change throughout the year based on promotional offers and special occasions. The rates may also increase to meet up with the cost of living, this is set and determined by the individual instructor based on their areas.
